Creative Weekend Guide

Write for us

Creative Weekend Guide welcomes pitches about playful making, familiar materials and small creative experiments. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to understand the idea and how a reader might try it.

What we welcome

We are interested in original project ideas, clear material comparisons, explainers about making techniques, creative prompts and stories about the choices behind a handmade object. A strong contribution has a distinct focus and gives readers room to adapt rather than insisting on one perfect finish.

What to include

Describe the central idea, the reader it suits, the materials or knowledge it assumes and what makes the piece different from a general craft overview. If an idea involves specialist tools, unusual materials or important limitations, say so in the pitch. Please send proposals rather than finished work unless we have agreed otherwise.

How to pitch

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then make clear that you are pitching a contribution. We cannot promise to accept or publish a proposal, and a pitch should be original and yours to offer.

Our point of view

Curiosity beats getting it right

A project can wobble, surprise you or end up in the recycling. The useful part is noticing what happened and deciding what to try next.
